Over at Slate Magazine, Farhad Manjoo has an interesting article about the future of the social network that Obama’s campaign built. In the article, Manjoo touches on the possibility that Obama could use his network to help his mandates get through the legislative branch.
Democratic Web guru Joe Trippi is quoted below
Trippi argues that if Obama can use the Web to spark the same well-organized fervor for his policy goals as he did for his campaign, “I think it’s going to be one of the most powerful presidencies we’ve seen since FDR, and maybe even more powerful. Even the best presidents have never had a way to connect directly with millions of Americans—Obama will have that.”
I think that more interaction between the executive branch and the people (see previous post) is very important, and maybe the internet really will bring along social justice and change. Only time will tell!
