Katie, Erin and I went to the 4th annual Holiday Craftacular today and there were some really terrific vendors! (Don’t worry if you missed it, they usually have one in February too!)
Here are the online links to some of my favorite stores:
I have to try a princess cake! Maybe next time I go out to Seattle, I’ll make my brother take me to Ballard to hunt one down! Also, Cake Spy (going into my feed reader immediately) has an interesting article about why the princess cake is a delicate shade of green. (via a really great post over at not martha)
Cake Spy also has a guest post over at Cupcakes Take the Cake about the best places in Seattle to get cupcakes. I had some really wonderful ones at All City Coffee. (As a matter of fact, I ate a cupcake for breakfast every day I was there!)
The Brown Butter Shorties at Smitten Kitchen made my mouth water. I think I have all the ingredients in the house too…
Also, Theresa Honeywell’s motorcycle cozy caught my eye. I’m so far behind on my holiday knitting, I don’t know when I’ll catch up, but my next project is going to be a knitted steering wheel cover! (via Jezebel)
And if you’re looking for wonder xmas gifts, Design Sponge is the place to start. Today Grace posted a roundup of fantastic gifts for under $25 as well as a link to lovely (and inexpensive) Julia Rothman prints.
Do kids still play with things like paper dolls?
I *loved* paper dolls when I was a child. My absolute favorites were Jem and the Holograms. (Here’s a link to a version someone created with photos.) So today, when I saw this link to a Joan Holloway paper doll and wardrobe I couldn’t resist posting it! Beautiful illustration work. (via Jezebel)
Update-The Joan Holloway paper doll was created by Nobody’s Sweetheart, check out her cool portfolio!

This my last day of wearing a beard in my online pictures, but if any of you still want to get in on the fun, head on over to atto to build your own beard! It’s for a good cause!
If a paper or virtual beard aren’t enough for you, though, and you really want to rock a beard without all the itching, hairiness or hormones, you can pick up one of these twee little beards from i made you a beard’s etsy shop! (via design*sponge)

How could I have missed knitPro? This awesome application takes any image and creates knitting patterns from them! I have big knitting plans after I am done with school in December, and this site now figures heavily into them!
microRevolt, the website behind the application a craftivist site which focuses on feminism, sweatshops and crafting. Go on and check it out!
