Animals Are People Too
As some of you may know, one of my New Year’s resolutions was to lead a more animal-friendly lifestyle. My husband and I have been eating less meat, and we are eliminating all cosmetics and cleaning supplies that have been tested on animals.
We have also been buying our milk from Sassy Cow Creamery, a local dairy farm which includes a cow of the month trading card on each gallon. Not only is this idea cute, but according to this article about calling cows by name, it may also be profitable! (thanks Tony)
The flip side of being trying to lead an animal-compassionate lifestyle, is that PETA is the major clearing house for information about companies that test on animals. Although I admire their dedication, their crazy antics turn off a lot of people, and their self-righteousness leads them to disregard other important social justice issues like sexism and hunger. Katy over at Jezebel has an excellent analysis of PETA’s recent Super Bowl commercial debacle. I recommend you check it out.
On a less serious note, when you google the phrase “animals are people too, the video below (from neatorama) shows up as one of the first hits. It features a wide variety of animals getting completely wasted. Enjoy!

Where are you buying Sassy Cow milk? Also: You should change your site copyright to 2K9.

I’ve been getting it at Jennifer Street, but they have it at Woodman’s too!
